A, You're Adorable...

So I say about Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings, who tagged me for this ultra-fun alphabetical meme:

A is for age:
43, but I keep mistakenly telling people I'm 44. Somehow I've regressed to the elementary school practice of self-aging a year...even though I don't plan on going to Chuck E Cheese when my day comes. Actually, I am 43 and a half...

B is for burger of choice:
Bacon cheeseburger, done medium rare, with only a white or pale yellow cheese. No orange. Not sure why.

C is for what kind of car you drive:
A new-to-us used 2002 Honda Odyssey. (I do still miss my '74 Ford Maverick that before its passing spat antifreeze at me through the vents.)

D is for your dog's name:
As yet, we have no dog, despite He-Twin's impassioned pleas to change our status. Periodically he shares his different ideas as to what the pending canine's name should be. Today, it's Hayden. I vote for Biscuit or Pancake.

E is for essential item you use everyday:
Prayer and red wine. They work well alone or together.

F is for favorite TV show at the moment:
Oh dear. Here's my short list: Mad Men, Reaper, Rescue Me, No Reservations, Rock of Love, The Soup, Flip This House, Diners Drive-Ins & Dives, I Love Lucy (though husband dislikes it, so I watch it rarely), Kathy Griffin's Life on the D-List, pretty much any show on MSNBC (except for Keith Olberman--in my opinion, a bit too pompous, and I'm not exactly sure what he's basing his self-congratulatory nature upon). Despite the oft-lamented dearth of "good TV", I can always seem to find something entertaining. Helps to watch with a pop-culturally conversant/find-the- humor-in-everything husband who coincides with my TV tastes well, and I with his.

G is for favorite game:
Right now, Mr. Mouth. [See extensive posts to that effect below...]

H is for Home State:
Virginia. Sic semper tyrannus.

I is for instruments you play:
Does manipulation count? If not, maybe the spoons....

J is for favorite juice:
Pineapple. (or does wine count?)

K is for whose butt you'd like to kick:
Not really a "butt-kicker," but after my outburst on the TV question, perhaps Keith Olberman's.
L is for last restaurant at which you ate?
Does Sonic count as a "restaurant"? If not, the Northside Grille, our very (or at least my very) favorite neighborhood haunt.

M is for your favorite Muppet:
Count von Count.
But I really think I love him because Sarah loved him so passionately (and I am NOT kidding, passionately) from age 2-3.

[Seriously, she really loved Count.]

N is for Number of Piercings:
Three. Two in left ear, one in right. Did the second hole in left ear myself in college. The picture you're imagining is probably far more scandalous than the real story, so I'll let you go with it....

O is for overnight hospital stays:
Once as a five-year-old (some kind of bladder procedure), and then when the twins were born. Pretty blessed Mama, me.

P is for people you were with today:
Darren, Sarah and their Daddy.

Q is for what you do with your quiet time:
Should I be concerned that I dislike quiet time? Maybe I've just forgotten what it is like...

R is for biggest regret:
As Sinatra said, "I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention."

S is for status:
Gleefully married, 12 years.

T is for time you woke up today:
Woke up at 7:30ish when the kids piled in; got up around 9.

U is for what you consider unique about yourself:
It may not be too unique (actually, I hope it's not), but I am quite naturally a happy, optimistic (to the point of Pollyanna-ism) person.

V is for vegetable you love:
Wow. I don't love a single vegetable. (Maybe that makes me unique....)

W is for worst habit:
Ewww, this is gross to admit, but I do pick at my head/scalp when I'm stressed; and I tend to not let my husband finish his sentences. Sexy, huh?

X is for x-rays you've had:
Dental. An elbow in the 6th grade for a gymnastics injury. (No, I wasn't good. If I had been, I'd not have gotten injured.) Have had numerous knee x-rays as well. They're pretty rugged.

Y is for yummy food you ate today:
Chocolate chips out of the bag while the kids were out running errands with Daddy

Z is for zodiac:
Sagittarius. (And apparently, a pretty "obvious" one; I've had people say, "Oh you are SUCH a Sagittarius," upon first meeting them. Suppose I should read up on my sign to see if that is a good or a bad thing; it's always said with that glaringly adjective-absent tone of "Oh, you got a haircut.")

Oooh, now I hereby tag Christine at Watch Me, No, Watch Me, Emily at Essential E, Donna at Two Hearts in Guatemala, and anyone else who's game! Let me know when/if you do it; I wanna go peek!

I love that count cake!!!!!!!!!!

What is it about "sneaking" chocolate chips? I mean, they probably total fewer calories than other "bad for you" treats, but it feels so much more sneaky....

I love being tagged for a meme...but I can suck at actually following through.

This one rocks, though. I've been having some writer's block recently; I'm thinking this might give me the kick in the tuchus I need.

Thanks!

I think chocolate chips out of the bag count as a vegetable.

Clever Meme!

I love a good bacon cheeseburger--one can never have enough meat as far as I'm concerned!

Your contagious optimism is so obvious in your blog! Can't read it without smiling and feeling good! (And who doesn't love Pollyanna?)

Amen to the necessity of prayer daily! I think twins make it twice as necessary! :)

Always happy to provide fodder, Christine! (Not that you need it...love your blog!)

Kim, Jessica and Jen C., y'all should do it, too! Let me know if you do...and please share something reprehensible (like picking at your head.... ;) )

The feedback you had to know was coming...
*Um the chocolate chips-AREN'T THOSE FOR BAKING?????? (at least that's what my mom used to tell me.)
* The pierced ears...notice I didn't say HOW mine were double pierced. 1 ear was done by a college friend and the other was done by an old boyfriend.
Yeesh.
* Count cake...okay you win with that.
* I am a Gemini as you are a Sag. (and I'm not sure I even believe any of this.
* Have you analyzed the cheese color issue? I am intrigued.

* Why doesn't your husband love LUCY? I LOVE LUCY- You love lucy...it's a no brainer.

* Did you see The Breakfast Club when the crazy girl made snow with her dandruff on to a paper?
That's what your worst habit reminds me of.....LOL.

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING TO MY TAG...AS ALWAYS YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT.
