What Brown Did For Us

Readers of Laura's Catholic Teacher Musings (and if you're not a reader, for Heaven's sakes, become one; she's practically perfect in every way) may have caught her post on our real-life rendezvous gone awry....not for lack of collective trying, but rather for congested, impregnable I-95 traffic.

As illustrated in said post, a circus-tent striped basket intended for Sarah and Darren was sent Richmond-ward via UPS, the handsome men in brown. (I experience a Pavlovian chocolate response when that truck pulls up.)

Typically, when that vehicle driver arrives with package in hand, much to our kids chagrin, it's connected to/with my work-from-home-gig. "Awwwww man, it's for Cheryl Lage," is uttered in unison numerous times weekly.

Not so on Tuesday.
A sneak peek through the cellophane reveals a collection of blog-documented Lage twin favorites. Truly, thoughtfulness incarnate.

At the bottom of the box, buried under peanuts (kindly strewn by aforementioned twins) was something truly amazing. Laura couldn't have known that the preceding evening, while "jumping a little lighter" at my first Springsteen show, a bracelet I've long associated with my first days with the babies somehow became disassociated from my wrist. I was sad; but taking solace in the fact my other two bracelets, one a plain cuff and the other with name-blocks of the kids, somehow managed to remain on my E-Street enthused arm.

Then I opened a small box labelled "Cheryl"

Senorita, come sit by my fire! We will reschedule.
After Darren cleans up the styrofoam peanuts...

Can't thank you enough, Laura. Does this qualify as a virtual playdate?

AMAZING CO-INKIDINK about the bracelet! Hooray.
I am so pleased to photo witness the Mini-Lages opening their box-o-merriment. (Sorry about that peanut stuff-ghastly clean up)
Thank you for posting this so I could watch. Very fun.

Truly, it was a box-o-merriment. No apologies on the peanuts...for them, that's a gift in and of itself! (and they cleaned it up. ;) )
