Before I Became a Mother...

...I'd never have mistakenly stirred the milk and sugar into my coffee using the self-same spoon just used mere minutes earlier to extract an expired fish from the mini-aquarium in the kids' room.

Any similar mommy moments to share? Please do...

PS - I will express thankfulness later today. First thought: I'm thankful the fish was no longer in the spoon...

Ohhh... Did you realize that before you drank any? That is why we don't have fish. The thought of taking any fish, even a live one, out to clean the aquarium/bowl gives me the creeps!

I burned some pumpkin seeds really badly the other day. Our house smelled like we were smokers for a week!

Wish I could say I had realized it...but I didn't. Hoping I don't contract some dreaded fish affliction! ;)

What is it with pumpkin seeds? I've NEVER been able to roast/toast them successfully! Hope the scent is clearing now...;)

heee heeee--not laughing at you-just with you (kinda--okay, laughing at you, just a bit)--I'm thinking my own self-same faux pas would gross out the most stalwart of tummies--so I'll just leave it at, "I feel your pain, girl, I feel your pain..."

Blessings!

heehee...something i am sure i have done many times. well, not exactly that, but i have plenty of similar stories! right now, my favorite is the day i sterilized my breast pump parts for 33:33 instead of 33 seconds. needless to say they melted :)

Oh My!!!! EEK Cheryl!

I never realized how much effort goes into being a mommy! And how thankful I am for my mom & what she did and still does for me & my sister.

Oh wow... I re-read twice just to make sure you did actually use the same spoon!!

Mommy moments to share... ummm, I've eaten countless bites of half chewed cookies and crackers and granola bars because at the time there seemed no safer place to put the clump of whatever it was I was holding...

sheesh.. after writing it out, that actually sounds a little more disgusting than dead fish juice.

Okay. maybe not. :)

Oh...what a day! I can say that before I became a mother, I would have never allowed anyone to sneeze directly into my face (and mouth, and nose, and eyes)!

Bwa-ha-ha! At least it's a good way to get your Omega-3s, right?

I have so many of these moments that I need to reflect upon some of the choicest ones to share with you :)

Oh disgusting! That's way better than finding out AFTER you've brushed your teeth that your 1 y/o dropped your toothbrush in the toilet & your 6 y/o dried & put it away so they wouldn't be in trouble! I about passed out when I found out about this one!

Cheryl - I see your fish spoon and I raise you to an even more disgusting "before I was a mom, I never...."

Ate a little bit of chewed up cookie that had hitched a ride on my finger upon removing my child from his carseat only to realize mid swallow that we had a blow-out diaper situation....

...not cookie crumbs....

I'm not sure of the rules, but I think that trumps...and at the memory, I'm going to go literine again!

Ewwwwwwww! how gross!

I think one of the grossest things I have done is used a "used" burp rag to wipe my face, thus smearing baby vomit on my cheek, in my hair, on my mouth....

eww eww eww eww! Did you dump the cup of coffee after you realized it? I'd have had to!

Oh that is so gross!

I think my worst is when I was holding my oldest into the air and he was laughing so much he drooled in my mouth! UCK! your fish spoon trumps that!

I just donated our fish to my parents pond! I am so glad now! I hate fish! They are so disgusting! LOL

hope you got yourself a new cup of coffee!

LOL! Hey, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing next to you! ;)
As germs go, you are probably pretty safe from any fishie disease, but then, again, if you get a sudden urge to "blow it out your gills" or if you spend hours doing that fish kiss thing...
