Over breakfast Thursday morning...
Mommy: "Darren, guess what we get today?"
Darren: "Yearbooks! I can read mine on the way to tae kwon do afterschool."
Mommy: "Oh Honey, I'm so sorry. Your uniform is in the laundry, and I haven't done the wash since Tuesday. There's no way it can get washed and dry in time for the early afternoon session"
Darren: "Mom, it's okay. If I hadn't been horsing around in it after the science fair, I wouldn't have gotten the grass stains on the knees. It's not your fault, Mom."

Oh wow yes! Heaps to be proud of.
What a gtreat boy! You're doing such a FINE job...along with daddy..of course:)
Your family is so wonderful!
Annmarie
That is fantastic! Teaching kids to be responsible for their own actions can be a tough battle - you have mastered it!
What a great kid! And he looks so tall in that picture.
How very mature of him. Give yourself a pat on the back Cheryl. You are raising a good boy!
WOW!! That rocks :) Go Darren!
Hey, Cheryl! Oh, that brunch sounds like so much fun. We definitely don't have anything like that around here. I mean, there's drag but not accompanied by eggs 'n' grits. I'm on the coast of NC. Sorry to be such a slacker blogger. I hope you're well!
Very, very impressive! And you can also tell him, it could be worse. He could be dealing with me as a mom and not even have clean underwear...I swear it will be in the next load!
what a good kid! Makes me think of this evening...before dinner, Jacob was carrying his blanket from school around (picture Linus from Peanuts) and I asked him to go put it in the laundry basket. Well, I did not realize until later this evening that instead of putting it in his basket in his room, he took it all the way downstairs and into the laundry room and put it in the washer for me! :-) He loves to help load laundry! LOL!
Wow..what a very responsible young man.
Dang. That's really sophisticated. Impressive.
Wow, that is really impressive. You SHOULD be very proud, mom. Well done to both you and Scott.
Wow, isn't he agreeable! I love it.
I know a lot of adults who could use some Darren.
Wowser! I'd say that little speech says many wonderful things about the young man giving it, and of his parents. Well done!
Way to be accountable!
Very Nice!
