Bad Haiku: Cancer Too Courageous

Oh, melanoma
What are you even thinking?
Back in just six weeks?

Now pay attention:
Did you think we were kidding?
Cut you out before...

Not going to balk,
We will cut you out again.
No Mr. Nice Guy

Inhospitable.
No haven for terrorists---
And that's what you are

Dad is done with you
Don't think about coming back
Twin motivators

So cut you we shall
and then we will radiate.
Cancer, pack your bags.

No, no, no, no, no...what a horrible disease! This sucks and I hope you guys are standing strong. What I've learned from your family through your blog is that you can take a lot of punches as long as you're standing together for the impact. It just sucks that you have to deal with this at all.

I am sitting here shaking my head. I'm so sorry to hear this. Between the doctors, you and the "twin motivators", you have a very strong team to help your husband fight against this crazy illness. Please keep us updated. I wanted to ask how he was doing the other night on the conf. call when you mentioned him, but didn't get a chance. My husband had to have a spot cut out a few years ago that was pre-cancerous, and even that was scary. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Well, as my dad used to say, that's like crap on toast. I am keeping you in my prayers for a quick cancer-kicking course ahead.

Your family is in our prayers. May the thoughts and prayers of everyone around you (literally, and in bloggy world) give you support, strength, and encouragement during this time.

Oh goodness, Cheryl, I'm so sorry. And this, in all its militant glory, is confident and true - it'd better get packing.
