Fast Friends and Fast Food

Dateline: July 15, 2007
Twins' Age: 5

Last week's visit to the dentist reinforced our twosome's long-term dental discrepancy.

He-Twin had NO teeth until 14 months; and today, at age10, he retains 12 of his "baby teeth."

She-Twin had teeth at 9 months; and today, at age 10, she retains only 6 "baby teeth," two of which are exceedingly loose. (Does the tooth fairy come to camp?)

Synchronous silly smiles warm my heart this mid-week.

I have one that loses teeth like crazy and one that would prefer to hang on to them forever (we have to get them pulled) and they aren't twins....but teeth are funny!

I was just talking to our dentist about the kids' loose teeth the other day. She said that girls are likely to get teeth and loose teeth first...and because of that, she was very surprised to hear my twins were the complete opposite of that trend. Jacob had his first tooth at 4 months and had ALL of his teeth before age 2 (including molars). Sarah didn't get her first until after 9 months and didn't get all her baby teeth until she was about 4.5 years!

Now, Jacob has already lost 3 teeth and Sarah is far from losing any yet...

So interesting!
