Way Back When-esday - Progression to Positive Prognosis

Dateline: February 2012
Twins' Age: 10

The image above (while watching the circus) was taken the month we learned that Scott's melanoma (that he'd been valiantly and repeatedly fighting since 2005) had progressed to Stage 4.

The image below was taken this morning.
That same trio is walking out of UVA's Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center. The occasion for the whole family to attend Scott's typically solo every-other-week appointment there?

Today, Double Daddy wrapped up a two-year clinical trial hosted by Bristol-Myers Squibb as a COMPLETE RESPONDER to BMS's freshly approved immunological treatment, Opdivo.

Cancer-free. No evidence of disease.

Sure, he will continue to have the full battery of scans every 3 months for the foreseeable future...and be monitored vigilantly and regularly by his oncologist extraordinaire, Dr. William Grosh, but the 30+ appointments a year? Now, a thing of the past. Scott's prognosis is very, very good.

Thanks be to God, and to all our incredible family and friends for their amazing, continuing, prayerful, loving support.

Happiness and Gratitude abound-----
