Mama MUST Need a Makeover...

In the past, Darren has made it clear (compassionately) that my hair may leave a bit to be desired. [As evidenced, here.] Last night, while concluding nightly "blessings" with Sarah, here's the conversation that transpired:

Mommy (going in for a cheek kiss): "....and thank you God for all our blessings. Amen."

Sarah: "So Mommy, what did you look like when you were 26*?"
(*My age when I met the twins' dadddy.)

Mommy: "Really, I think I looked pretty much the same. Maybe a little bit younger looking."

Sarah (while fingering my bangs tenderly, but with clear disdain): "Hmmmmm. I'm thinking you've likely done something very different with your hairstyle since then."

While I'd almost be insulted, they look up at you with faces like these, and all's forgiven...

too funny....a few months ago, my daughter caressed my face lovingly and said "Mommy, you look like a boy." I have a strong-featured face, so I've actually heard this before when I had shorter hair. This time, I'd longer hair, but went right into the beautician and told her she could do whatever she wanted, but I needed to look like a girl. ;)

Hang in there, momma! And you're right...when they look up at you with faces like that, you decide that it's best to let them live. :)

You know Barb, it's funny that you mention that, because I swear a few months ago she said, "Mommy, I like that black part underneath your hair." Have you met my daughter somewhere? ;)

One time- one of my toddler nephews-Jesse (now 27) grabbed my thigh and said, "This is like bread dough."
What could I say? Except, "YUP."

Kids are swell for keepin' it real.
