People[.com] Made Me Pee My Pants!

Surprise! This isn't about my post-plural partum inability to 'hold my water,' instead it's more of an "ooh, that is way too exciting!" challenge to my elimination processes. And as such, I am too excited to keep it a secret...

Backstory: Last week, I got an email from an adorable associate editor with People.com. Now for me, a magazine hound (both paper and 'puter) from way back, that is tantamount to a call from Santa to a six-year-old. As they were preparing for the onslaught of articles destined to follow the at-that-time-pending births of the newest Jolie-Pitts, my perspectives (Mine? Really? Are you sure you got the right gal?) were requested for a piece they planned to post in the days immediately following the babies' arrival.

Looky, Looky!

How in heaven's name People.com has me accorded amongst their "favorites" with the likes of Dr. Sears and Harvey Karp, I know not; but truly, I almost peed my pants.

SOOOO, knowing that the REAL experts are in the real world, if you wanted to "share some advice with Ange," what would your parenting (twins or otherwise) tips be?

Do tell!

Man.
We better get to your house soon to visit before the paparazzi shows up. I can see the lines forming now.

Oh my word!! How exciting!! They couldn't have picked a better expert! If I was a good friend of Brangelina, I'd tell them to pay for someone to cook their meals and clean their house so they could focus 100% on their beautiful children because they grow up so fast!! ...but don't you think they already do that?

WOW! I would've PEED my pants too! How exciting!!!!

Hmm, as advice from a mommy of many who then had twins to a mommy of many who just had twins, the only thing I would say to them is that all the kids in the world DO NOT prepare you for twins. It is so much more time consuming than you ever imagine.

I would just advise them to savor EVERY minutes as it FLIES by way too fast!

OH! And to make sure that every child is still made to feel just as special, esp. since they already are a "specticle" with so many kids and now they will have that whole "twin thing"...

OH! & warn them of the stupid things people say (not that everyone in the world won't know their business. LOL)

Whoa. I can say I *know* you!! That is so impressive.

Brad and Angelina? Maybe cut down on the number of movies this year and consider nicknames like Jason and Stacey for the twins. I'm just saying. Not like they're listening.

How cool are you?!

Y'all are hysterical! (And ever so right about all the tips...especially the growing up so fast thing...yikes!)

And Goddess, to answer your question: SOOOO not cool. If you could have seen me five minutes ago cracking up at my husband who was convulsing with laughter as someone finally succumbed on G4's new game show "Hurl" (and yes, it's EXACTLY what you think it is) all the while refusing to look myself because if I see anyone other than my children hurl, I hurl..well, I pretty much am as uncool as they come. ;)

(But thanks for thinking/hoping otherwise! ;) )

Wowsers!!! An EXPERT in our midst! I am honored to 'know' you! :-) Congrats! And, I must say, you handled the comments and criticisms there with a great deal of dignity and clarity! You go, woman!

Congratulations! I too want to say that I "know" you but shouldn't I ask the important question first. "Will you be my friend?"

So fun! I think it's great that they sought your advice!

Well now duh, of course they would ask you. Afterall you are the guru I would go to for advice :)

* treat your twins like the individuals they are. Don't compare them to each other and more importantly don't let others compare them either.

HI Cheryl - so cool! You're famous. And some great advice too. Off course, I'm probably the only reader of your blog that have not read your book - will find out if available here.

that is so freaking awesome! make sure you tell us when your article is up :) no advice from me...but i think the best thing i read was that it isn't a baby times 3 (or 2, or 4, etc...) but it is 3 individual babies with 3 very different needs.
