Being a former art history major, I remember well the accounts of Vincent Van Gogh electing to spend his food funds on paint -- and then subsequently consuming a squeeze of it here and there. Yet I digress...
The Ides of July are past, and we've yet to see sand. As is the way with most artists, Sarah often expresses her innermost desires and emotions via her artwork.
Keenly aware her simian summer scene might be misinterpreted as an indication she wanted to go to the zoo, here was the next in the series (and yes, she does work in series)...

Wow - you have quite a little artist on your hands. I love her swirly sun, the curly clouds & the detail of her waves (she thought to even include the white part of the wave). Please keep sharing her creations with us!

I think the cutest part is that there are monkeys on her beach :)
I look forward to the days in the future that my kids might want to draw me a picture. It would mean a few less minutes of trying to climb on my kitchen counters via the now almost broken kitchen drawers!

Seriously, y'all. You have NO idea...so much fun daily. Her beloved K teacher told us that one day a classroom discussion ensued when during journal time (a sentence or two composed and thenillustrated) one child erupted with, "How come Sarah's looks like a real book?"
[Can you tell I'm a wee bit proud? Of course it's coming before a fall...now she's tending to get frustrated when perspectives are difficult to achieve, and destroys what she's been working on for up to an hour or more. Yipes. She's SIX.]
I think she could make her own greeting card line...seriously.

I think there are companies that do turn kids art into greeting cards.

Yes...very good job Sarah! My oldest is my artistic child. She has informedus she is going to be an illustrator when she grows up. Then follows that up with "You know what that is right?" in that DUH voice. LOL
That compulsion to create is just wonderful! I see genius.
