Teaching Tact, Times Two

...or at least trying to.
[While awaiting a visit from a indisputably gorgeous colleague to pick up a box of paperwork...]

Sarah: "So how old is Mrs. G.?"

Mommy: "I don't know Sarah, but when she gets here, please don't ask. Some women don't like telling their age. It's considered a nosy question."

Sarah: "No, no, no, no, no, Mama. Here's how you do it. You say, 'You look so young! How old are you?' It works. I've done it with lots of ladies at church and they usually tell me."

Hmmm. It's the "usually" that concerns me.

Now the men, they're another story. Here, one of the remarkable men of our church, a WWII veteran, works his magic for Sarah. (I wonder if she asked him how old he is....)

Now that's the way to go through life! I have learned to dispute the old adage "flattery will get you nowhere" is absolutely FALSE! In my experience it gets you EVERYWHERE! Yay Sarah for figuring it out so early :).
