Behold "The Band-Aid Wall"...
As a child of the flesh-tone-only bandages era, this type of post-gore gallery would never have popped into my six-year-old mind. As a child of the 21st century, spoiled by the promise of a veritable "treat" atop each and every boo-boo, after Darren's protective patches have served their purpose, to the bedroom wall they've been retired. Unsavory, yes -- but such is the byproduct of educating our children to "reduce-reuse-recycle." [Eco-friendly or no, I'll spare you the details of Darren's tissue-saving "Boogie Wall," an art installation destroyed by the ultimate in-house curator.]

oh my gosh, that brought back a flood of memories! lydia used to love adorning things with band-aids. especially her book collection!
I used to love the neon pink, green, and orange kind. They are pretty and soften the sting of a boo-boo. I even used them in middle school when I'd cut myself shaving my legs! Suzi hasn't begun desiring band-aids yet; actually, when she was little and had shots I learned to not let them put any on her because their removal was painful. Now would probably be a good time to get some though, just in case!
Well, I have to say I found his work much more palatable before I read the post and found out they are all used. Would the boogie wall be considered "found art?"
Ugh, we had a boogie wall hidden in our house for a while before I found it. It required repainting.
It cracks me up the few times my husband has needed a band-aid and all he could find in the house were ones with cartoon characters on them.

I think my kids are deprived - all we have is flesh coloured ones! Never mind - it certainly hasn't inspired them to create works of art (shan't show them this pic though - they don't need any encouragement with artwork) LOL

Also, I have BEEN a boogie wall countless times when my toddler would walk by and wipe his nose on my skirt oR pants. Then, of course if I hold him when he's crying then I get snot and all sorts of other things all over my shoulders.
Sigh.

I am going to save ALL of MY bandaids and bring them to Darren.
I think he will especially enjoy the bandaids I've used on my foot blisters.

Just an aside to the post, the round sticker at the top of the Band-aid wall is NOT a band-aid. In case anyone was concerned, I don't make my kids cover their wounds with "I've Gone Kroger-ing" stickers.
