Monday, Monday, Me, Me, Meme...

Long ago, in a blogalaxy seemingly eons away, Nancy of the Zimmer Zoo and Debi of Who Says 8 is Enough? tagged me. Embarrassingly, it took me light years to come up with a simple six unspectacular (I can only imagine how long it'd have taken to figure six genuinely spectacular) attributes to describe myself! At long last, here goes...

The rules:
1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

6 UN-spectacular things about me

1. Odd objects tend to be the recipient of my undying sentiment.
Case in point: a plastic spatula purchased from a Piggly Wiggly in Hilton Head. The vacation was wonderful; and everytime I make pancakes or lasagna or any other flippable/liftable foodstuff requiring the use of a spatula (complete with a melt-mark in the handle) I'm reminded of that memorable trip. When beloved husband recently purchased a new spatula, I had to 'fess up to my attachment.

2. My handwriting is better when my nails are polished.

3. Sugar and sweets comprise the bulk of my intake. Dental science cannot explain why I had nary a cavity until after my 40th birthday. Seriously, if the childhood threats were universally true, I'd undoubtedly have dentures now.

4. Some years ago I read an article that revealed Halle Berry brushes her teeth in the shower. Fascinated, I tried it; and have done so myself ever since. (No, I don't pee in the shower, too.)

5. Rarely do I ever finish a cup of coffee before it gets cold, and as a result, I microwave every morning's cup(s) repeatedly. More often than not, when I go to do the morning's first nuking, I invariably find the previous day's last cup still in residence in the microwave.

6. Whenever making pasta of any sort, I always steam my face over the colander. Facialists would likely flinch at the direct starch infusion to my face; but it feels good, so I do it.

All the blogs I read are supremely spectacular, but this time around I challenge the following to think outside their superlative norm and share some quirky qualities:

Cheaper Than Therapy - Jen
The Twinskis - Katie
Lit and Laundry - ThreeUnderTwo
Irish Triplets Plus One - Rachel
Two Little Monkeys - Missy
The Myers Twins - Brenda

Seriously, anyone who'd like to self-tag to please do so; just leave a comment here that you've done it!

I brush my teeth in the shower, too...but have put that habit on hiatus in me current encumbered state out of safety concerns. I find if I don't concentrate on one task at a time, I fall over. ;)

Fun!! Those were great ones you came up with. I, too, rarely finish a cup of coffee. I think it stems from pregnancy - I got so ill if I even smelled coffee in my 1st trimester, so I still don't have the stomach for it. Thanks so much for tagging me - I'm going to get right on it, just as soon as I can get my wild monkeys to bed. ;)
Have a great one, Cheryl!!

I am like that with random household objects too. I recently broke down crying under threat of our old couch being taken away when my in-laws brought us their old (our new) one. It was the couch Jordan and I had our first kiss on! I've been meaning to blog about that. We ended up squishing it into our bedroom.

LOVE IT! Hmmm, I used to brush my teeth in the shower, don't know why or when I stopped that. Perhaps it was when I stopped being able to take showers daily. Or when I stopped being able to take a shower without a little hand creeping through the curtain!

Thanks for the tag. I will definitely post soon! (so many quirks, how do I choose SIX?!?!)

This is the funniest meme! I'm afraid nothing about me is "unspectacular" . . .oh who am I kidding. My life is chock full of unspectacular stuff. Thanks for tagging me. Give me a day or two.

I'm hysterical over the nail polish/handwriting connection. It actually makes sense to me!

HAHAHAHA These are great!! Thanks for playing :)

I can't get over the teeth brushing in the shower though...I shudder when I turn the hot water on accidentally when brushing my teeth, so I'm not sure I'd be able to do them in the shower...plus, our drain doesn't work as well as it probably should, so I'd have all these swirly things around my toes. Hmm. Fresh feet I suppose. Nah - can't do it ;)

I laughed out loud with #2 and #5. :)

Maybe I must try polishing my nails to improve my handwriting. And the steam facial and tooth brushing- now that IS multitasking.

I NEVER get to finish a coffee in the morning without nuking it at least once or twice.
