I Wanna Go To Friendly's

[Outside a Friendly's restaurant -- Sarah and Darren's favorite -- where we would share their big 7th birthday dinner...]

Mommy: "When I was little and would come to visit Mamaw and Papa during the summer, we'd sometimes go to this very Friendly's for dinner or ice cream."

Darren (with incredulity): "And it's still here?"

Sarah: "Yeah, but look how old it is, Darren."

Good friends know what Darren and Sarah like...

Buddy Luke and his family bestowed Friendly's gift cards to facilitate the evening's celebration.

Don't let the closed eyes fool you; Sarah enjoyed the birthday serenade as much as Darren did!
(The pot of coffee in the foreground is mine...more on the wildly fun weekend that followed this meal soon...)

Friendly's Rules!
Too bad I can't take the boys there. Too much peanut butter contamination! I'm scared silly. But I do end up going there every date night for a Reese's Pieces Sundae! YUM!

We don't have a Friendly's here ... at least I'm pretty sure we don't. Well now I wanna go and try it out too.

I think you should make them put "We will always appreciate Friendly's and we will still want to go there with our parents even when they are 100 and can only eat soft ice cream."
Why?
Because Friendly's is such a cute, simple little place to eat- and don't we want everygthing to just stay that way?
I do.

They sure don't mind taking a stab at you, do they? Poor mom!

Hope they enjoyed their birthday weekend! 7 already! wow!

I mean "make them write it." Did you get that or am I now too tired to communicate clearly?

My sister and I could never believe when a place my mom used to visit was still around, either.

Found you through Candid Carrie.

Oh, I so know the age you're talking about with the comments coming out in pure childish honesty. Dallas turned 7 in may, and we've had many of the same kinds of comments! We've learned to keep really close if he's saying something to someone we don't know well. That way we can either back pedal and explain, or let him know that what he said was better left a thought in his mind!!!

Love the picture of the serenade! I bet she was just closing her eyes to listen closely to it all!!

Hope they had a great birthday!
