Today was the first of what will be our church's annual juried art show and family festival, Arts on the Grove. Much longer post about it in the coming days, but for now, have to announce Sarah has made the leap from amateur to professional artist. She sold her first piece.
Sarah was understadably proud...especially when the wonderful woman who purchased the tempera on canvas board painting insisted on not only on paying more than the asking price, but declared it would be displayed proudly in a beach house where there "are lots and lots of turtles."

Wow, congrats to Sarah! I think she just made more money than a lot of "professional" starving artists out there. :-)
That's SO COOL!!! Congratulations Sarah :)
Congrats Sarah! That is a beautiful painting of a turtle! WOW!!
WOW! Yay, Sarah - that is so cool and that art work is too cool!
Mommy - for those of us that live in town, mayhaps a little heads up on the art show next year? lol
And I just read your Mammy-O-Gram post that somehow escaped my earlier visits to your blog - and it rocked! Quite entertaining as well as informative.
I wonder (sense I've never swiped a MammoWipe) if you could compare the contents to that of just a plain moist towlette/sanitary wipe for the uh, other area. Just curious! lol
way to go, Sarah!
Good for her! I love it! I'm sure she felt like a million bucks after that.
Congratulations to Sarah!
You'll probably have to help her file her taxes though, now she's earning an income.
Wow! Great job Sarah! Look at that big grin! I love the painting too!!!!
You did an awesome job, Sarah!

This is HUGE!!
I did my first paid theater job for 10 bucks a show...I was THRILLED to be paid for something so fun.(I cared NOT that it was so little money.)
I hope this is the beginning of a real passion for her.
A paid artist - go Sarah! I'm glad her work went to a good home.
Wow! I bet you are proud!
congrats sarah, what an incredible accomplishment for a young (and talented) artist!
