So profound thanks to Brooks of Babbling Brooks and Nancy of The Zimmer Zoo for this happiness-bringing award. Upon receipt, the recipient is to list six things that make her/him happy before subsequently passing forward the glee to others.
...and I am not including them simply for their scrumptiousness factor (which is impressive), but for the fact that the colors of the sprinkles always coordinate with the season at hand. Behold the current offering with autumnal sprinkles featured above. Fourth of July? St. Patrick's Day? Christmas? You can predict easily. It's all good.
2. Waiter-Style Corkscrews
Taught how to operate as a "waitron" (there's a story for another post) at a very fine restaurant, there is something purely satisfying about opening a bottle of wine without the folderol of multiple levers, rabbit ears and/or hydraulics. Gimme one of these, and I'm your highly adept (and well-practiced) opener.
3. Library Book Jackets Protected with Clear Cellophane Covers
That sound. When you open a newly-checked out book and hear that crinkly reminder that it's a wonderful treat you've been able to borrow...can't explain it. Just love it. Have ever since I was a kid.
4. Drinking with a Straw
Particularly like straws from Starbucks and 7-11 as they are my very favorite shade of green; but I also like straws from KFC and Taco Bell as they have a narrower circumference. Seriously.
5. LePens
They not only come in my favorite shade of green, but two others to boot.
6. Andy Warhol's Art
Every last bit of it. So much so, that for our first anniversary, beloved husband took me to Pittsburgh to see the then freshly opened Andy Warhol Museum.

By blog title alone, one can easily deduce my delight in -- and love for -- my family (in all its varieties: nuclear, extended, spiritual, friends-real and web, etc.). Soooo, in a decidedly less-orthodox manner, here are my six things -- some silly, certainly superficial, yet all sincere -- that genuinely bring me happiness.
