Our Godly Grammarian

after nightly blessings...

Darren: "We really shouldn't say, 'Amen.'"

Mommy: "Well Honey, it's like ending a prayer with, 'We really mean what we said."

Darren: "No, I know what it means. What I'm saying is it should be A-man. Men means more than one, and 'a' doesn't go with that."

Here's hoping God's forgiveness extends to our etymological inadequacies.

Today, I am thankful...

that in the future, at Sarah's request, we will both relax on the sofa with cucumber slices over our eyes and "those colored masks" on our faces.

that when he was carrying a container of two fish ever-so-carefully to add to his class' aquarium, Darren made it to Mr. D's first grade room with no mishap.

Tell Darren that in my southern little town, we do say "A-may-an!!"

Cute post. Can I come join you for the facial?

Love that Sarah wants to relax with you one day with cucumbers over your eyes. LOL Sounds like you have built the perfect mother/daughter relationship that will stand the test of time. Good job mama!

Must say that it seems Darren is more clever than words! ;)

Sweet. What a little thinker. In our Church, we say Ah-men.

I think when I have the opportunity to meet those wee Lage folks that I will be watching my words with care.
Wow.
What would happen if I threw out a few BRANGS and AIN'TS and IRREGARDLESSES?

Girl, call me when you get out the cucumbers!!!! :)

Thanks for your wonderful comment on my last post - WOW! 2 broken arms in 8 weeks? Poor little girl. Poor Mommy! I couldn't even imagine! You know the whole thing is almost so ridiculous, you just HAVE to laugh! :)

Glad the fish made it in and you didn't have any mishaps! Brave Mommy to let him 'share' those pets.
