It's Time to Dress Up Right...

A few years ago, when we got a DVD of The Muppet Show, Darren (not unlike his parents) connected with the balcony perched curmudgeons, Statler and Waldorf. That year, he asked Santa for a pair of the plush pals. Apparently, Santa knows how to make use of the internet (Elmo is plentiful; Statler and Waldorf, not so much so) and tracked these two down in the Netherlands. They didn't arrive until February, but since that day, they've been not only a toy, but a part of our living room decor.

Barbies, Schmarbies. While Daddy and Sarah are at Sam's Club, Darren and I just switched the terse twosome's suit jackets.

"They look much better now," says Darren.

Have any of your loved ones ever made a particularly challenging request of good ol' St. Nick? In honor of St. Nick's day, do tell!

PS - Our beloved friend, Emily of Essential E is a kindergarten teacher extraordinaire. This year as her class discusses holiday traditions around the world, they are hoping to receive postcards from locations all over the globe. So if you are from Milwaukee or Mozambique, please consider dropping her students a line and share how the season is celebrated where you live!

Sadly my kids are victims of television advertising and every thing they ever want is available nationwide "at stores near you".

Those are cute and unique toys--love 'em!

Mahala begged me for about 4 years to ask Santa for one of his elves. Every year she would ask Santa in her leters to him. One year Santa replied back explaining to her that elves can't survive outside the North Pole. Her thoughts were: we could keep him in the fridge!!!! Hugs Cheryl

My son David asked for a Red Ryder BB gun every year for 5 years straight. (even put it on his Christmas letters to Santa that were mailed off) God bless Santa! He sent back letters EVERY year, I kid you not, with these words written on the bottom of the letter " You'll shoot your eye out!"
He did finally get the BB gun when he turned 10!

Fun! I have yet to have to search too hard for a request (my time will come, I know...) but my hubby scored big points with me last year when my favorite perfume (that had been discontinued during that year) was found wrapped beneath the tree! Yeah for Ebay!

luckily, the kids haven't really requested ANYTHING yet... I know that will change ;)

I LOVE those two grouchy guys! They always have the best lines :)

I think Statler and Waldorf are my favorites on that show too!

My internet search-fests have centered around must-have Halloween costumes. It's worth the search for the delight it gives.

Wow! I've never seen those puppets before!

We've had difficult things to buy but luckily, the internet always helps us out! Although we've had to overpay for certain things, good old Santa Claus always brings what is asked of him.
