This week's theme is actually Christmas Estate Sale Finds; but this little beauty was something my grandfather (an amazing and active 92) just found as he was "cleaning out his estate" pre-Christmas.
'Tis a fine line between "vintage" and "kitsch," this may cross it, but the fact that this "Hot Air Gourmet Cornpopper" is/was "As advertised on TV by Joe Namath" made it too irresistable. We'll be stringing some cranberries and Football Hall of Famer-approved popcorn in the coming days.
Now be sure to go see more Christmas-y finds on Vintage Thingies Thursday!

This is the corn popper with the place on top to put a stick of butter that melted on the popcorn as it popped out right??? We had this exact one! What a fun blast from the past.
OMg I sure remember that popcorn popper..
Oh my....Joe Namath has got to be counted as vintage these days!
I sure do remember these poppers!
wow, I remember that popper! I think we actually had one of those when I was growing up! Joe Namath? Now that's pure vintage!
Holy Cow! I sure do remember that popper and the commercial with "Broadway Joe". He could pitch anything from popcorn poppers to pantyhose. My mom had one of these that we used quite a bit. Thanks for sharing--this was a good memory.
I'm getting waaay too old-growing up in NY, I had a crush on Joe Namath and now he's vintage!.
That's our popcorn popper. We still use it all the time. I got it second hand in the 80s when I was in college.
I melt the butter in a pan though, that little thing on top isn't quite as good.
I must be vintage. I still remember the Joe Namath pantyhose commercial.
I remember that popcorn popper....and we made tons of carmel popcorn with that at the holidays.....I wish I still had one. If you would like the recipe, email me....it is so good and you need that popper to make the corn first.
Loved this post.....and welcome to VTT. I am glad to see you here.
I do remember those poppers..:). 3 weeks ago, I gave mine to my son and he loves it.
Watch out. If I remember correctly they shoot popcorn all over the room. Or at least that's my memory as a 12 year old babysitter.
We had an air corn popper too!
It was the must have Christmas gift
right after the fondue sets!
My husband wants one of those for Christmas!
Great blog. :)
Welcome to VTT. Just FYI, there's no weekly theme, just show what you want.
I still use an air popper in my classroom. We spread a big clean sheet on the floor and take the top off the popper to see the popcorn fly! Then we eat the popcorn and write a story about being one of those pieces!
MMMMmmm i can smell that buttery hot pop corn & it's making me hungry...what a fun VTT item :)
