"My tummy hurts, Mom."
No fever -- no throwing up
Go ahead to school
Was it the right choice?
Will I get that cell phone call?
"Come and get your child."
Always tough to know
The right decision to make
Hope she's feeling well.
Thanks to Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings, and her weekly Bad Haiku Friday feature, for motivating a more poetic handling of our morning's debate. Now let me go make sure my phone is charged...

I think the truth will reveal itself by 3:00 PM...oracle that I am.
M's mom was a Pediatric ICU nurse, so she was extra harsh on sick days. Unless you were actively bleeding or vomiting, off you went. So my mother-in-law would approve of your decision. :-)
it's tough to make the call, but you just gotta go with your gut instinct! i never let lydia stay home (not that she ever wants to, the girl loves socializing) unless she has a fever, she is hacking up a lung or vomiting.
I hope she feel better already and you don't get that phone call.
You just have the gift of haiku....
and hopefully pediatric accurate diagnosis....
Blessings!
Hopefully Sarah's ok! My Sarah seems to be coming down with a cold, which I hope clears up quick - otherwise no hospital visits for her to mommy and baby next week! :-(
I awarded you...check out my blog. :)
AWWW....I hope she is still feeling ok and it all passed!
ohhhh...I think I got YOUR call today ;)
You are so right. That is always a tough call. I seem to make the wrong decision every time. Send them and they throw up at school. Keep them home and they seem fine. Why is that?
Tummy dilemmas
are the worst to diagnose
fifty-fifty chance.
I noticed Darren has his own blog now- does Sarah have one to display all her artwork? If not I think she should consider so we can all enjoy it regularly!
Unless I was bleeding from my eyeballs my mother (a teacher) sent my sorry butt to school.
I, of course, was always faking.
Oh that is a tough call the make! I hope all was well!
I hope it went well, I would feel so guilty if it didn't and I sent them.
How did she do??
Did she end up hanging in there for the day? How is she feeling?
I have these exact questions in my mind with my son all the time when he complains. Like he says his ear hurts but he has no fever. Hmmm... What to do what to do?! So I send him to school anyway and just hope it will all come out in the wash. I sent my baby (Andrew) to the daycare once and they called me not to long after to come and get him and come to find out he had pneumonia. Poor baby! Talk about a guilt trip delux!!
