My Cosmetic Conundrum

Worn in tandem this winter...

My favorite lip color:
[*please note the number of the beast...]

The balm that currently soothes and moisturizes my chill-chapped mouth:
Sassy or sinful? Blasphemy or Balancing Act?

Too funny.

Hey, Jesus turned water into wine...I say there's no reason your lips can't look pretty :)

I laughed my mother would freak out if she saw it. Very interesting marketing.

Oh Noble, my mom would freak out too (at both the 666 liner and the gloss)..although for me, it is a fun reminder of Jesus every time I need to "freshen up!" Apparently Singapore citizens found the line too distasteful and removed them from the shelves. I really picture Jesus being amused...I get the vibe He can roll. As a product, hand to Heaven (seriously!), it is the BEST lip balm I've ever used. I'm on my third one.

To answer your question Georgie, I got mine from a fun kids' store here in Richmond, VA called World of Mirth http://www.worldofmirth.com/

If you are EVER in the area, it's a must-visit. (I have a change purse with the motif, too. "Show Him the Money.")

Please forgive if anyone does find this offensive. I love Jesus oodles, and trust that He loves me -- foibles and all. ;)

The line is available online here, Georgie:

My Scott got me some of that "Lookin Good for Jesus" stuff last Christmas, but I think it was body glitter! Now THAT is sinful! LOL

While I am not "offended" (it's tough to do that really, unless you are Barney Frank or Rosie O'Fatso; wait, they don't offend me, they make me sick) I really didn't think it was funny. Not to sound like Donny Deutsche, but I don't get the market on this. Who is it aimed ... Read Moretoward? The first thing I thought of when I saw it was the KISS "Love Gun" album cover, and I really don't think He would have wanted to appear on that one either. Topless women looking in bliss upwardly with their faces at Jesus' crotch level doesn't make for a product I'd really want to use or endorse. The 666 thing, cheesy shock value that in such a use as this does nothing more than make the number even more casual and almost a joke. Which it won't be when it really matters, but hey I won't be here for that. Let's ask what would be the response if this was "deity" of another "faith". Never seems to be an outrage when it's Jesus.
