Way Back When-esday: The Red, Red Robin...

Dateline: September 2006
Twins' Age: 5 Years Old

Last night, as the four of us celebrated the passing along of Scott's formerly fully-operational Honda Civic to Goodwill, we decided to treat ourselves to a fully-family dinner at one of our favorite locations, Red Robin. While we were perusing the menus, our beloved feathered friend, the Red Robin himself (herself?) sidled up to our table for a little silent banter.

Immediately, the occasion pictured above, the kids' 5th birthday, came to mind. They were beside themselves with the corporate singing and the lavished avian affection. Looking at this image, I remember the dramatic disparity in Sarah and Darren's height...perhaps most pronounced when they were 5. She's sprouted recently, and has closed the margin.

Take a mid-week moment and go "Way Back!" Post an image, a story and/or a memory and link back to Twinfatuation to share in the web-wide reverie. Be sure and go visit others joining in the e-album viewing and leave a comment!

We have a Red Robin about 45 minutes away & I am sad to say that we have not tried it yet. Love the picture! And wow, Red Robin has some muscular legs!

That is so cute, I am not sure my kiddos would have gotten close enough to the giant bird to get a picture!

We LOVE to eat at Red Robin...but the last time we took the kids there and Red Robin was out...the kids (Jacob especially) were TERRIFIED! I mean...he had the most pathetic look on his face the entire meal and just kept looking for it to come around again. Several times, he just burst into tears again, thinking he'd caught a glimpse of it. He kept saying "duck go bye bye? Chicken all gone?" (he thought it was a duck or chicken...not a bird/robin! LOL!) I can still picture his face...

I have never heard of Red Robin, but since Denise mentioned it, there must be on in NJ (????)

I thought maybe Sarah was bending in the picture. WOW! That was a pretty big height difference.

Happy WBW!

PS Did I read that right? You donated one of your cars?

We love RR too! The boys love to get their balloons and fries, of course! I worked there for a few months during college. What a fun, happy family place!

Differences in height...just another way our twins are different...I love it!

How how neat to have a "celebrity" at your birthday party!! heh

...never been to a Red Robin, but I've heard lots about them.

We love Red Robin immoderately! Their tower of onion rings is so good and yet so bad . . . .

We don't love the actual Red Robin as much, though, but that has more to do with Fiver's nook on the autism spectrum and Sally's shyness than anything else :)

I haven't been to RR in a long time. What a great memory!

Our girls LOVE Red Robin! So much fun stuff for them to look at there, plus balloons! I don't think they've met Robin though. :P Guess we haven't been there at the right time.

I'm impressed that the huge red bird didn't scare them (we've had a couple of traumatizing Chuck E Cheese sightings...)

Blessings!
