Feline Longing

On the way to the playground, with Darren running ahead...

Sarah:
"You know Mommy I want a cat really badly."

Mommy: "You know what, Honey? I have wanted a cat my entire life."

Sarah: "Well, when I grow up, I will definitely have a cat, no questions asked."

Mommy: "What if you fall in love and marry a man who sadly just dislikes cats...like I did?"

Sarah: "Well, before I marry someone, I am going to have a good, long talk with them and tell them that they will need to compromise on this issue."

This is an awesome story! Too bad you can't help who you fall in love with... or else I would not be a hockey widow throughout the winter :)

Oh you have to just love the logic of a child! Too cute. Seems like she has a pretty good plan!

Oh my gosh! That's adorable. I laughed out loud. :)

So intuitive of her to know that compromise will be necessary! I hope cats are the biggest issue she ever has to deal with. :)

You could tell her she is kind of lucky both of her parents are not deathly allergic to cats because at least there is a chance she can have a cat someday.

Lauren has wanted a cat since she was 3...she can't have one because of "us" and recently discovered, while at a friends house just how crummy geneology can be...

Talk about crushing a dream

Good for her!!!

I also happened to fall in love with a Scott who hates cats and has only put his foot down on this one issue (oh, and the issue of me buying more diaper bags than I really need.) I've warned him that one day Rowan may want a kitty and he won't be able to resist her, but he says he'll buy her a pony first.

Sigh.

Ha! Glad she has it figured out!
I secretly wish we had a cat but my husband says no cat! At least he and I are on the same page about dogs - we both love them!

Maybe an arranged marraige will work?

Go Sarah! Cats are awesome. My husband didn't "like" cats either but it was part of the deal. when he got me, he got an old cat. He actually grew to like the cat quite a lot. He'd just never had one so he didn't know how great they are.
