Way Back When-esday: Not-So-Welcome Wagon

Dateline: 2002
Twins' Age: Under a year

Seriously, this is one of my favorite early images (long overdue on the scan and the feature) of our twosome...

An semi-impromptu visit to the in-mall Picture People (coupons'll do that to a mom) and this was the result. The framed 8 x 10" is on our table by the couch and at least once a week, we look over at what's become known as Sarah's "Wagon Face," and erupt into giggles. Darren's onboard excitement and seeming "nudge"--alerting Sarah to the fun factor--never ceases to charm me.

Why don't you take this Wednesday to go "Way Back?" Dive into those digital files and expose an image--or story--from days gone by. Be sure and link back to Twinfatuation and share in the web-wide reverie.

Pop around and visit other participants, and when you do, be sure to leave a comment and let 'em know you're playing along, too!

I love the red-red combo- it is perfect! Sarah looks unsure but it is really cute how Darren has the look of "see how much fun I'M having?"

I take the kids to PP at the mall unplanned as well as those pesky coupons arrive via email almost weekly! A&R now know what PP is and they halt as soon as it is in sight!

Hilarious - most of my pictures of baby Lauren have that exact same face in them...everytime I paid for photos I got that face.

That is one of the cutest pictures!! I think non-smiling pictures can be even better than smiles..shows their true personality!

She looks so sad! They seem to have similar personalities to mine...Hailey is serious and Matthew is a ham...they are adorable (your kids, not mine...well, mine ain't half bad either)!

Sarah's face is too cute! Darren was trying to be a good brother and get her to smile! :)

Did tears ever erupt with that frown? What a contrast.

I love it. She looks like the cat that swallowed a bird. So funny.

how funny. I think this is the first time I have seen your duo back when they were little little. Hunter is notorious for not smiling for pictures.

I had to chuckle at the title of this one. :P

Oh my gosh! They look adorable! I don't think I've yet seen a baby pic of them, so I enjoyed it. Is this the picture you referred to in your book?

Oh my goodness. I love seeing them so young. I can see those elements that have stayed in their faces to this day. Isn't it weird how when we look back the kids look exactly the same in so many ways, and yet we can't predict what they will look like when they're that young? Did that make any sense whatsoever?

They have the most perfect little heads ... just perfect.

The rest of them is just as perfect, but you know what I mean :o)

What a great moment! I love looking back and seeing that their personalities were always there, even way back at the beginning. I always clipped those Picture People coupons and never got my act together to actually sit for one. Now I regret it!
