Makes My Monday: Building Blocks

Not the wooden, plastic or Lego variety, I'm talkin' locations that bolster the camaraderie of friends and families next door, across the street, adjoining the back yard.

Memorial Days of recent years have been observed with a police-sanctioned blocked-off block---grills and goodies, chairs and children all in the middle of the street party. And while our address isn't technically on the block hosting the festivities, we are connected via a physically shared alley...and a shared fun-loving spirit.

To some it's a picnic. To some it's a party. To some it's a pinata beatdown. To me, it's perfect--- and Makes My Monday.

So what's with Mr. Linky anyway?

Block parties are so fun. We usually have one at Halloween. Looks like you're lucky to live in a neighborhood with lots of kids.

My post-birthday party happiness is making my Monday.

Oh, how I wish we lived in a 'neighborhood' where we had block parties! I grew up in a nice 'neighborhood' but we are more 'rural' now...so no street parties when the speed limit is 55!! haha!

Playing along!
