Makes My Monday: Check-mates!

Our weekend began with Chutes and Ladders, segued to a computer version of chess, and then to the real McCoy. Needless to say, they're very much in the fledgling stages but the competition is intense...and impatient. (Already took the board away once after my cute little Kasparovs got a bit too "animated.") Seeing Sarah and Darren enjoy something new....that their dad and I both enjoyed as children...Makes My Monday.

They are so cute! I loved playing chess with my brother when we were little... although I think we often made up our own rules! LOL

Love the concentration! Our oldest boys were especially big chess fans and the competition was intense starting at around five years old ~ and continuing now to late teens and twenties. Great bonding! And great brain exercise, too!

Board games are always fun!! We used to play alot of board games with our family too. I hope that my new immediate family and I will do the same thing. We used to play this board game called "Makin'Bacon".Have you ever heard of that? It's kind of funny. They are two small pigs that you throw as dice and depending on how they land is how you make your points. It's kind of funny. Now that I think of it for my own children I'm not so sure it would be a board game I would chose for my kids to play.

Happy MMM
