Could the algae be too plentiful in the twins' room tank? A mini-lesson in marine biology later, and Saturday afternoon, Sarah went to the pet store counter and confidently asked, "Could you get us an otocynclus, please?"
Sarah's assertiveness and our new algae-eater, Rocket, Make My Monday!

Rocket, a perfect name! Pets are the best!
Playing along today too.
Ha! I just re-read - an otocynclus! Did the guy/girl at the pet shop have a clue?
We never had much luck with fish either. Hope this one swims longer!
Playing along!

Oh that's cute - and a great name too. But I also loved Anna Bananna! Awaiting the pound puppy's name - could only be original.

Fun! I think aquariums are so educational and fun for kids! We had an awesome 36 gallon tall tank a few years back. It really was beautiful. Then the stand it was on crashed and the whole thing fell and little fish were flopping around the room. At the time, we also had a big tank with two oscars in it--they were each about 18" long. Well the best we could do for the little fishies was to throw them quickly into the other tank hoping they'd find a place to hide. Nope. Gulp.
The Oscars befriended the one parrot fish, though. And they lived happily ever after. For a while.
lol
Have fun!!

If the wait becomes too long, you are welcome to a Bouf house rescue. Her name is Sophie, she is a 1 1/2 year old lab mix and she will help herself to ANY food left out on the kitchen counter.
Playing along!

I am looking for some mom wisdom- maybe something I might be doing weekly... we'll see how it goes this week, if you don't mind stopping by and playing along yourself! I owe you a makes my monday next week! :-)
oh cute! Love that happy, happy picture!!
We have an algae-eater that Burke named "stick" because it sticks to the fish tank walls. LOL
Very cool! I remember buying one years ago and the pet store employee saying, "when you go to sleep, that's when he goes to work!" So true. Those little guys definitely earn their keep :)
