Makes My Monday: Melon Munchers

My maternal inadequacies are abundant. Topping the list--and one of the very few my husband will actually verify--is a less-than-stellar dietary example. Family meals with nutritional value are always served---yet consistently the most miniscule amount of veggies possibly qualifying as a portion tops my plate. Believe me, my delicate, bird-like repasts don't comprise my primary intake. On the sly, I've a spoon in the frosting tub, my hand in the Sam's Club 2 lb. bag of chocolate chips, a four-pak of sugar-free RedBull ever-on-chill.

Imagine my joy at the utter rejection of my role-modeling---when a dear friend brought us a home-grown cantaloupe and the entire melon was devoured in a single sitting! Even healthy food-avoiding mom enjoyed a generous bowl full. If He-Twin wasn't wearing the Krispy Kreme logo emblazoned tee, one might think all we ate was fruity, natural goodness! My twins' affinity and appreciation for the fresh, locally grown produce Makes My Monday. (The digestive aftermath, not so much.)

OMGosh! I am so excited about winning a signed copy of your book. That is so cool. I can't wait to get it and show everyone. I believe I have read a couple of pages of Twinspiration a while back and I really enjoyed your writing. And how cool about the Itsy Bitsy Yoga too. I can't wait to read all of it. Thanks!

Looks like your kids are enjoying the cantalope. I really love catalope. It's my favorite of the melons. I could probably eat cantalope all day long.

Thankfully with my hubby's garden, our kids eat pretty well and they LOVE their fruit! (I think its because I ate a whole fruit stand while pregnant with them! LOL!)

I just bought a HUGE watermelon at the store this week and its almost gone already - several meals with it then my hubby 'juiced' it last night and we made smoothies with the juice. Yum!!

That's great that they like fruit so well. I'm thankful that my son has always liked fruit & veggies, even though I never ate them while pregnant!! ;0)
Take care!!

Oh SNAP! Love that you confess to a diet similar to mine ;) (minus the Red Bull ... never tried it, actually.)

And I wouldn't have even noticed Darren's shirt if you hadn't said something LOL!

Cute photo :)

So cute!

I actually really like fruits, veggies and all things sugar!!! I had to stop buying those ginormous bags of chocolate chips, because I'd say only a third made it into baked goods. The rest went straight to my tummy! Unfortunately, the kids are much more in tune with my less healthy choices. :)

Love this meme and really do need to join in soon!
