Cheryl,
What a wonderful party! I love the looks of delight on their faces as they enjoy good, simple fun. No need to rent expensive space when you can have a blast like that!
How awesome! Love the action shots :) Very cool way to celebrate the birthdays of two gorgeous kiddos.
Great pictures! 8 is such a wonderful year! Good job double Daddy.
LOVE their faces!! How fun!
What a great idea! I love your party planning creativeness! And is Sarah wearing pink boots??? If so, I love it!!!
backyard birthday are the best . . . the absolute best. those are the kinds our sons always got.
What you seem to have caught on to, but others have not, is that big $ spent does not always equal big fun and warm memories. In-fact, kids build more and better (proper terminology right there o;-p) "warm fuzzy memories" from times in their lives when what we spent was our time, energies, and creativity on their behalf !!! They get that we are attempting to show them that we think they are worth something important - us investing ourselves in them.
I hope all of that makes sence.
One year for a pirates themed B-day party we came up with a couple of ideas that are s-t-i-l-l talked about. #1 was sword fighting via bread sticks (which were purchased at the day old bread store). With one arm held behind their back, they fought their opponent using a bread stick like a sword. They couldn't hit each others body - just 'sword' fighting. They knew how fragile their 'swords' were and fought carefully. It was delightful to watch. #2 - they built their own ships using styraphome trays I purchased for five cents each at the meat dept., straws to hold the sails up, sails out of material scraps / paper towels / paper / etc. and boat decorations out of a variety of misc. stickers, colored tapes, etc. that I scrounged up around the house. Once all of the boats were completed, we walked the two blocks down to the local park by the river and set them sailing in one of the ponds in the park. Some went quite the distance, a couple went two inches and started sinking, ... Everybody in attendance found it great fun!!!
Great pics! The games were the best part of my mom's labor day party as well. I'm planning the little guy's first birthday now and dying to get a new moon bounce - but hubby is adament against it ;(
Looks like they had a great time and a wonderful birthday!!
That is the type of party I strive for every year! It seems that my kiddos b-days are always the ones remembered by friends and they just include old fashioned kid fun!
OMG, I LOVE IT!!! I so wish that my twins' birthday was in the summer so we could do back yard fun like that.
Logan's birthday will work out there though :)
Love the looks on their faces - pure GLEE.
OH! This Makes My Monday too! I LOVE when kids can have fun, just using their imaginations. How fun and those photos are priceless!
These were always the funnest games at the party...a winner every time!!
We had to sing to Hailey twice and she doesn't have a twin (that we know of anyway) Looks like super fun!!!
