Way Back When-esday: Paint Your Wagon

Dateline: September 2002
Twins' Age: Freshly 1

Saturday, Darren and Sarah turn eight. EIGHT. Unbelievable.

One of the best memories of their first birthday was the Radio Flyer push wagon from G'Ma and G'Pa Lage. On the day we all gathered to celebrate, Mamaw (my grandmother, the kids' great-grandmother) laughed 'til tears rolled watching the twins get pushed all over the house by their big cousin, Rachel. Sadly, by the time the twins' second birthday rolled around, Mamaw was gone; but her love so visibly displayed for that precious first 17 months of Sarah and Darren's lives won't ever be forgotten.

Know this birthday will provide more memories still.

Bet you can find a picture that makes your mid-week marvelous; share it---play along!

Dive into those digital photos or scan a scrapbook find and blog a bit this Way Back When-esday.

What a sweet sweet memory Cheryl! Gosh, eight! Wow! Growing up way too fast. Remember that scene in Mama Mia when Meryl Streep pushes her hand in her hair and says to the 3 (grown) girls: Stop growing! I always feel I want to yell that.

wow 8 already. What a great picture and memory.

I know I first met you when my guys were real little and S and D were alot younger but I never knew that they have birthdays in the same week. And that they are pretty much 4 years older then E and H. Which is pretty cool because that means they are twice as old as them this year.

Eight seems so old doesn't it? Mine doesn't turn until early October, but I'm already freaking out about it. Happy birthday to the twins!
