Makes My Monday: Protecting Pictures

As my beloved laptop seems to be losing life, she offered up enough ooomph for me to pull prized pictures to the safety of a portable hard drive.

This post? Netbook composed and posted while our long-suffering, dutifully laboring Toshiba rests for the night. Knowing irreplaceable images are preserved and retrievable Makes My Monday!

New to Makes My Monday? Share on your blog what warms your week's beginning: Post a picture (especially since some of us can't!) and tell the tale. Then be sure to link back here to share in the web-wide Monday fun. Don't forget to leave a comment for others...comments are always Monday makers!

My Toshiba got a new lease on life when I finally threw in the towel and punched the button that said "return to factory settings." After wiping it's brain clean, it greeted me with a "thanks for buying me!" message and runs like a dream now. Glad you saved your pictures!

Thank goodness...that's why my hubby is so ridiculously on top of backing up our files, huh? BTW (not to pressure you at all b/c I think you definitely have enough going on in your life for this not to be your first priority), but I wanted to make sure that I emailed you my address for the book I won...I can't remember and just figured I would check. Thanks!!!

Oh my gosh, this has been happening to so many people I know lately! Thank goodness that your photos are saved. I have a 3-way back up system. A bit much, but it feels safe! I promise I'll participate later today!

I'm thankful for this reminder. We'd saved our photos on a zip at one time then lost the zip... We need to do it again. It would be a tragedy to lose all our photos! Glad you have all yours safe and secure!

Ahhh yes! I know this issue all too well! When E&W were babies, I lost ALL of their 3-4 month photos when my computer crashed. It was heartbreaking. (luckily I had emailed HUNDREDS of pictures to people who were able to send me back photos). Since then, I back EVERYTHING up.
Glad you were able to save your photos :)
Makes My Monday too!

How I understand! I'm having problems with my computer too. I might have to be w/o it for a few weeks! :( I just down loaded everything to my external hard drive last night.
Take care! ;0)

I know the feeling of lost pictures. I finally researched and found Shutterfly. Love it and all my pictures are there and every month or so I save them on a cd

We learned the importance of an external hard drive the hard way!

We just bought a Toshiba lap top! Did you like yours?
