The Tears of a Cute Clown

Form of...She-Twin.

Somehow, I doubt we are the only family beset with bouts of the morning weepfest.

We try ever-so-hard to be sympathetic; but occasionally, the catalyst for the crying is so surprising, we have to endeavor to suppress the giggles.

This morning's provocations:

"But I don't like peanut butter sandwiches for lunch! They get all over your hands, they stick to the bag and they're too sweet!" (Cue tears.)

"These socks are awful. This part gets under my toes and is uncomfortable all day long." (Cue tears.)

"Why do I have P.E. and have to wear tennnis shoes on the day we are going to the pool? Tying shoes takes way too much time." (Cue tears.)

"No one saved me any doughnuts!"

...and here we were led to believe "too sweet" was an issue.

C'mon, make Sweet Sarah feel better. Tell on your wee ones. What are some of the surprising tear-inducers in your otherwise happy homes?

So funny how the pb sandwich can cause someone to cry!

My son is the same way. He cries over a lot of things. One of my favorites was over an episode of Meerkat Manor. They ran off one of the mommy meerkats and she had to have her babies alone in another hole. He started crying and we had to turn it off. I can totally see mine crying over a sandwich.

My son is the weeper, for sure. Just this very morning, tears appeared because:
1. I was wiping down the kitchen table.
2. I cut his banana into the wrong sized pieces.

The behavior was poor enough that he got a time out for each episode. It was a great morning. :-)

Oh looks like you have a Drama Queen too! I have a Drama Queen and a Drama King. Both do it for the most ridiculous reasons... This morning my Little Man was crying because I didn't put the stuffed car on his bed in the right spot. Ugh. I feel for you.

That is so funny...having 6 yr old twins, and girls to boot...we do have a lot of the morning tears. I am proud to announce none this morning...however yesterday there were actually tears about the "I don't like peanut butter" saga. It blows my mind...who doesn't like peanut butter.
We also get the crying..."it's my turn to wear that dress, no mine, no mine..." And last night it was because they couldn't have any more lemonade.
You have to love little girls and what emotional beings we are.
Have a great day!

Aww poor Sarah! I would be woeful too if there were no donuts left for me.

As for my tearful pair, it's usually when it's not TV time and they ask for "Dora and Boooooooots, Doooooora and Boooots" sob sob sob, but the strangest thing is when we're in the car and we back up unexpectedly like when we're parallel parking. They always start wailing. That one I just don't get!

The drama has definitely kicked in since Abby started K this year. The craziest thing though is when I brush her hair. Sometimes she acts like I am completely torturing her - tears rolling, yelling at me to stop. Then other times, she is distracted by the tv or she's talking to her little brother and she doesn't even realize I'm brushing it. Go figure...

I think one of the biggest morning meltdowns we had involved the phrase "But *I* wanted to pour my milk in my cereal!!!"

my grandson at Sonic, "Sissy got a bigger drink than me!" (cue tears) then the drinks actually came to our car and I showed the drinks side-by-side. They were the exact same size and tears dried up!

If my oldest doesn't get enough sleep, I hear the sock complaint too.

Liam melts down when Brenna won't dance with him. Brenna melts down when someone touches her "blankie".

Poor sweet Sarah...but you guys should have saved her a donut cause they aren't too sweet at all! Love her!

I swear that is early onset PMS. I did a post a while ago about the Lil Miss that cries and when you ask her why she doesn't know and doesn't know how to stop.

The other day Suzi (2.5) complained for the very first time that her sister (5 mos) was touching her. "She's touching meeee...." I kind of can't wait for Ivey to get a little older, put her finger like half an inch from Suzi's arm and say "I'm not touching you! I'm NOT touching you!" This is all novel to me because I didn't have any siblings close enough in age to get into these types of fights.

Suzi was also sad when she noticed her basket of Christmas books was gone and I had to tell her I put them away because Christmas was over. For a while I think she had this fantasy that if we read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas again, Santa would have visited again by the time she woke up. I hated to burst her bubble.

Logan burst into tears this morning when we thought he was asking to play with play dough and he was actually asking to play with Clara. (Ironically - his speech teacher.)

Don't disregard Cat's suggestion too soon...I was visited by Aunt Flo for the first time at the wee tender age of *9* ...so it's not unheard of.

Sarah-my kids cry too because of the bumps in the socks. What is wrong with sock makers that they don't make seamless socks, I think you should invent it, you be a billionaire!!

is it the name Sarah? is it a girl thing? oh...so morning are rough around here, often thanks to our one lil darling. ;-)

Socks...oh the socks!!! Pants pulled up too high or too tight in the waist (ok..that one I can understand), Underwear bunched up, who got to go potty first, which book to read, whose lap to sit on, that their milk was too warm/too cold...

Oh I could go on and on....she is a drama queen for SURE! lol!

Don't get me started on socks...Santa even brought us "magic" socks...Apparently Santa's magic only lasts about a week...

The biggest drama lately is my poor 4 year old crying when his two older brothers don't "root for him" when he's playing the Wii.
