The Dog Days of Summer

Aspirations.
Thankfully, even the youngest amongst us have them. Since he was not much older than two, He-Twin has vocally, ardently---and by necessity, patiently---wanted a dog.

Complications.
Unfortunately, even the most laid-back amongst us have them. Would-be new canine owners---if they are to be worthy---must acknowledge the imperative of a fence, a long-term commitment to care, and the not-to-be-sneezed-at challenge of blending a pup personality with those of extant family members.

Celebrations.
Joyfully, even the most procrastinating amongst us have them. The fence will be completed tomorrow. The twins---now eight---have demonstrated their compassion by twice collecting pet goods over presents at birthday fetes, as well as a matured ability and willingness to contribute to mammal maintenance.

After a rousing morning version (complete with Village People-esque dance moves) of "It's fun to go to the S.P.C.A.," four Lages ventured out.

As Double Daddy has already confessed (with far greater appeal and believability than Jerry Maguire) "He had me at 'Hello.'"

Meet the fifth Lage:

At last, Larry's come home.

Oh, lucky you! What a beautiful dog! How old is Larry? Looks like more than a puppy.

The kids must be over the moon. What a sweet addition to the family!

That is the cutest dog in the entire world!!! I love Larry! Your kids are going to love having a dog...you might too...or you might be like me and just consider the dog another being in your house that wants food! Haha...enjoy your newest addition!

Yay! I am so excited! We have talked in the past about Darren's desire for a pup and I can see how happy he is to have one. Larry, what an awesome name, he shares his name with my dad.
Welcome Larry!

(Psst... PJ is getting a puppy Saturday if all goes well. Actually, Sugar is getting a friend. Either way we look at it - our home is going to be happier) Gotta love puppies!

Congratulations! AS you know we are passionate dog parents. He is such a beauty - looks like a little ice-bear cub.

oh my gosh, is he ever cute!! Have fun with your new family member! :)

PS: And I must never ever let Fiver see this post, as he wants a dog so badly. I told him no dogs while I am still changing diapers - I just cannot handle that much poop! :)

I still would have named him Lincoln (Lage) or of course, Mr Fish.

Congrats! He's beautiful!!! How old? What kind? Details, lady! haha!!

We have 2 pooches - both mutts really. They were our babies long before we had 'real kids' (lol!). Adam adores them both and the twins like to play with and feed them!
