Dateline: December 2003
Twins' Age: 2
This unused shot from our Christmas 2003 photo session brought back a flood of memories. They were perched atop the toybox (that's still in the den/playroom). They're wearing pillowcases I happily ruined for the sake of the photo op. In larger format, Sarah's nose is profoundly runny, and there's a slight tear in her eye. Clutched in Darren's right hand is a much played-with sprinkle shaker with a string of plastic molded beads inside (the combination made a fabulous noise). Oh, and in his left hand, beloved, beloved, Kermit and "Monster"---a.k.a. Animal. Pulled from the tops of two Starbucks holiday treats of that year (Candied pretzels? Pencils? Chocolate-dipped stir spoons?), those Muppet finger puppets were Darren's constant comrades. Seeing them here was a heartwarming reminder of Christmas past.

this is a very sweet memory! I personally would have sat and cried reliving that moment! I almost did and this was my first go at it!
What an adorable memory! Funny how sometimes all it takes is the glimpse of a photo and it all comes flooding back.
I love how with one simple picture, the memories flow. I love it! Merry Christmas, Cheryl.
Isn't it great how one simple picture can take you back in time! I love photographs for that reason!
