Way Back When-esday: Twinvitations
Dateline: January 2009
Twins' Age: 7
Along with other similarly-aged children, at the request of a dear e-friend, we composed letters to the then-new First Daughter (well, actually she's their second daughter...), Sasha Obama. In a recent house-cleaning, we unearthed them----sadly unsent.
Innocent overtures of youthful friend-making warm my heart this mid-week.
Why don't you dive into your digital files and play along with Way Back When-esday?
Seek out an overlooked snapshot or scan a scrapbook find...share an image you might not otherwise. Tell the tale and place a post on your blog. Be sure and link back to participate in the web-wide reverie...and please leave a comment when you do!
Day #2 in the Hallmark Get Carded Challenge:
Last night, a great friend and fellow-mom tried to reach us via cell. At the time, I was at an eye appointment with the twins waiting in the lobby. Tried to retrieve her message at the twins' swim lessons. She had wanted to meet for dinner with all our kids (our husbands were together, elsewhere...). When we caught up with her, her crew was on the way to gymnastics; we were on our way to a promised trip to Friendly's. This freebie from the Hallmark friends seems an apt choice....
If you would like to receive a group of greetings from the kings of correspondence at Hallmark, make a comment within the duration of the next seven days. One commenter will be selected at random to win a packet of cards similar to the one we're enjoying for "Get Carded" and beyond!

Oh! What fun notes. I used to have a pen pal when I was younger. I always loved getting a letter in the mail! (still do!)
Love the card! Ha! Soooo true! I have a 'thing' for cards - I can't buy just one...usually walk away with a few 'extras' to put in my stash (for which I'm grateful for times like yesterday when I THOUGHT I'd picked out a birthday card but instead it was something else. Off to the stash to find a more suitable card!)
That card is fabulous but those notes to Sasha take the cake! I wonder what would have happened had they made it in the mail?
How could Sasha and Malia ignore such an earnest request?? Love it!
And the card...perfect! Now if it only had twins on the front of it, I would buy for all of my MoM friends!
Such a cute idea! You should totally send them. I've been gone a while (getting used to a new baby!) but I'm back and will be linking in every Wednesday!
Those letters are very sweet! I linked up this week to share some baby pictures plus a good old photo of the hubby and I before those babies ever came along. :)
I love the notes to Sasha...and how Sarah wrote "or I could just come to the White House"!!!! Who wouldn't want your kids to come over for a playdate after reading those adorable notes??
Wouldn't that be cool if your twins and Sasha played together?
Ooooh, I've never ever won anything before. I think I will enter for the Hallmark cards.
Those notes to Sasha are so sweet! I wonder if they might have received some sort of response if they had been sent? I bet there are PR people who handle that type of mail.
So glad to see that I am not the only one who has such a difficult time getting together with friends because of schedules. Sadly, we end up planning months in advance just to make it work.
That's such a cute card! :) I'm sure many folks would appreciate that sentiment!
