When the Going Gets Tough....

Both He-Twin and She-Twin participate in an elementary school program called S.P.A.C.E.

The group meets once a week, and has the opportunity to explore out-of-the-ordinary subject matter---as well as to create less-than-orthodox projects reflecting their new-found knowledge. Recently, the class has been learning about natural disasters...and their impact.(As I type, She-Twin is editing her "newscast" on the 1995 Hanshin earthquake in Kobe, Japan.)

A facet of their recent study required they cite inspirational quotes that might offer encouragement or motivation to those victimized by such a tragedy.

She-Twin took the assignment very, very seriously....

He-Twin wrote nothing down. When asked what words he felt might provide uplifting support to those under duress, he said, "I'm going to verbally tell Ms. W. the line Dad shared with me when the tree smashed our house."

"What did Daddy share with you?" I asked.

His response?
Whatever works....

oh, they are so cute. Lauren loves to look up and keep quotes, they are on sticky notes under the glass on her desk!
