A Boy and a Belt of Black

Back in May of 2007, our first post on Twinfatuation revolved around our family's earliest experience at Master Cho's World Class Tae Kwon Do.

Shortly after that inaugural piece was composed, She-Twin decided TKD was no longer for her.

He-Twin however, set his goal. and stayed the course.

Last night, after hours of lessons, practice, seminars, memorization and dedication, He-Twin tested for his long-desired black belt.

Mission accomplished.

The half-black, half-red belt he's wearing above is called a "poom" belt, signifying his meeting the black belt standards of his own dojang. In six months or so, after the Kukkiwon in Korea reviews his graded evaluations and videotaped performance in last night's testing, he'll receive his own fully black belt...embroidered with his name.

How wonderful to achieve a commitment-demanding goal so early in life.

Master Cho, we, and he couldn't be prouder.
