Makes My Monday: Giving Goodness!

School's out for the summer, so there's no better time to embark upon a crash course in kindness!

The textbook reference?  Ferial Pearson's fantastic new release, Secret Kindness Agents: How Small Acts of Kindness Really Can Change the World.

An award-winning educator and genuine connoisseur of compassion, Ferial and her students decided---under cloak of anonymity---to spread sweetness en masse.

Their tales are both inspirational and motivating; and YOU can win a copy of your very own...signed by Ferial and some of the key players on her "pay it forward" team!

[left to right: Maribel Navarrete – S.K.A. “Chi”; Keshya Burrell – S.K.A. “Kash-yeah”; Mackenzie Carlson – “Cheezy”; and Triston Herring – S.K.A. “Tris-Dog."]

My thoughts on Ferial's book---or better phrased---Ferial's call-to-action?

“Want to cultivate kindness? Experience the description-defying pleasure of bringing joy to another human - voluntarily? Clandestinely? Daily? Rejoice! Thanks to Ferial Pearson, you now have a guidebook. Secret Kindness Agents: How Small Acts of Kindness Can Really Change the World is the must-have for would-be Secret Kindness Agents (SKAs) of all ages.”
--- Cheryl Lage,  S.K.A. “Sprinkles,” author of Twinspiration  and Twinfatuation. com

Guess what? As a not-so-secret act of kindness, we're going to GIVE AWAY an autographed (by Ferial and many of her SKA's) copy of Secret Kindness Agents: How Small Acts of Kindness Really Can Change the World !

Leave your name in the comments here and be entered once....share an act of kindness you've instigated...or one instigated on your behalf...and you'll be entered TWICE!

Tweet #SecretKindnessAgents and #Twinfatuation (in the same tweet) and be entered yet again!

A winner will be selected via Random.Org and announced NEXT Monday, June 23rd.

GOOD LUCK...and kick off some kindness of your own this week!

Not that I need a reason to be kind, random or otherwise... ;-)

One RAOK that I helped with was sharing a student's story with the world, and by doing so, helping her find a place to live, graduate from high school, and enroll in college. Again, thank you for the opportunity to win this book!

Ferial is an amazing person and educator! I am not at all surprised by this.
My daughter and I went through her gently used clothes, books, and toys this weekend and chose items to donate to the families affected by the recent tornadoes.

Ferial is an amazing instructor. I am fortunate to have her asy teacher for a class I am taking!!

I took my autistic daughter to an event specifically for special needs kiddos. I paid the parking fee for the car behind me, as it looked as if it was barely running. I thought it was really great for this mom to get her child to this event when it appeared that they struggled financially. The GREATEST part of the day...there was a drawing for a one-year lease of a brand new mini van - and SHE WON IT! It the most awesome sight!! She never knew who I was or that I knew the condition of her car....just made the moment that much better for me!
