Transitioning Traditions with Teen Twins: Sitting with Santa

My childhood Santa’s lap-sitting experiences didn’t evoke memories of “full family excursion.” As a result, in my earliest days as a parent, I made a major faux pas. Seeing a line-less St. Nick at our local mall, I de-strollered our baby twins and plopped ‘em on him for the photo op. Without Double Daddy. Arriving home to discover the picture, he was crestfallen. Lesson learned.  All our conversations with Mr. Claus since, we’ve accomplished together.

Our twosome may be sixteen now, and a little too large for the dual Santa seating, but standing by his side for an annual wishlist-share seems to suffice.

These things are the wonderful things we remember all through our lives...
