Putting on the Pancake

Recently, I read an article wherein the beauty expert author stated the single mandatory cosmetic item for each decade of a woman's life. Seems as a mama in my '40's, my days of strolling out of the house with a swipe of lip gloss should have ended 20 years ago. What should I be taking the time to do to make my visage more palatable to onlookers? Foundation. Daily. Call me a Glamour-Don't, this is the only kind of batter I can face/work up in the mornings...

And even then, I don't dare do it daily!

Any idea as to which twin likes theirs "Cut up, with lots of syrup, Please," and which likes 'em "Round and plain"?

If you haven't gone over to Best Family Diaries and peeked at my pro-TV for children guest post/diatribe (how's that for flying in the face of common conversation?), please do! Chime in with your thoughts!

Big goings on in the Lage house this weekend, and in the coming days. More soon---

Those look good! It kind of makes me want to make some. I do have blueberries left I could put in them. Or chocolate chips...

Oh, thank GOD it's not just me. I think I've been watching too many episodes of "What not to wear" and "10 years younger" and now have a complex about how I hate to put on makeup unless it's a special occasion. My Scott keeps telling me I don't need makeup, yet when I do wear it, he goes on and on about how good I look. Sigh. And how sad is this? The main reason I don't like to put on makeup everyday is that it definitely means I need to wash my face at the end of the day! Sad, huh?

And how did you know I've been craving pancakes lately? I scored both blueberry AND chocolate chip yesterday. Yum.

I'm guessing Darren likes his cut up.

I'm so with you. At least I wear sunscreen daily, but that doesn't help with the under-eye circles and the ruddiness around my nose. I don't even have two kids, much less twins, so what's my excuse?

I am a nut about my lipstick...my lips hurt without it!

Make up what's that? If there is make-up on my face we are either going out on a date night, or having pictures taken! I don't need another thing to worry with in the morning!

Make up is so overrated.

Mmmm, pancakes. I'm guessing your son likes them plain and that your daughter likes them drenched in syrup.

Yum - those pancakes look great! I love wearing makeup, but I definitely don't have time for it everyday! I only wear it if I'm going out.

my one flaw..I can not go without makeup..I feel so naked without it. I don't wear much, but I have to have eye makeup on at least!

I break so many make up rules it's not funny. It's sad. I have tried not wearing it and then people ask me if I feel okay. Then if I get some sun...I feel much better about not wearing it because then I have some color. BUT THEN I have more freckles and dry, wrinkly skin which THEN means I need more make up to try and hide it. Vicious Maybelline circles I run in.
CURSES.
