Too Much Raffi?

Someone please reassure me I'm not the only one who when making a general observation frequently meshes my mental oratory into a children's song...

For example: Just now, I was preparing the side dish for dinner and caught a small bug amidst the grains.

Sing with me won't you? (to the tune of "There's a Hole in the Bucket, Dear Liza, Dear Liza")

"There's a worm in the couscous, Dear Mommy, Dear Mommy..."

Tell me you do something similar...please!

I was narrating my actions while taking the kids out of their carseats. I said something like "I came to get you down." And then (both mentally and out loud) launched into the chorus of "Jump Around" by House of Pain. Daniel thought the "Jump Around" bit was fun. I was glad I was in the privacy of my driveway.

LOL Oh yes, I do that WAY too often to even want to admit. *giggles*

Do you know what I do? I drop the girls off at preschool and don't turn off their music. Then I realize 20 minutes later, I am singing along to Hugh Hanley or The Jumpitz (really mind-numbing) and there are no kids in my car. Wow, I need a new playlist.

Not kids songs...I mesh everything into a show tune.

Oh, if you heard the things I turn into songs you'd feel very reassured that you aren't the only one.

I'm impressed you handled the situation so cheerfully. I would have been grossed out and annoyed.

We knew it was time for hubby to go back to work when HE started singing, to the tune of We Just Figured Out Blues Clues, things like: it's time to make some coffee or did you get the mail LOL

Yes, I often break out in Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets or Go Diego Go for no apparent reason. Unfortunately I do that also when I am alone in the car, in the bathroom.....:)

My current theme song is .... "The pumpkin patch polka." So Raffi is leagues above where I am!

I'm laughing so hard I can't think!

I have to admit that I do narrate to the boys in songs like that on occasion. Just the other day I was singing something to dear Hunter to that tune. Plus the Wonderpets have also been ingrained into my head so I break into their songs when I think about teamwork and fruit salad.

Definitely the result of being a great mommy. I have found the Barney song to work for most occasions.

So funny - way to find humor in a worm in your couscous...by the way...how do those things get in there? I've had them in flour too! Eeewwwww......
