Fear in Different Formats...

Think this twosome is scary?

The visual above isn't a fraction as fear-provoking as that of two sweetly sitting, less-intimidatingly dressed twins at the fore of the church during this morning's "Children's Moment" after being asked, "Do any of you know what a hypocrite is? Have you ever met anyone like the Pharisees, that expected you to behave a certain way, but then behaved anyway they wanted?"

Wait for it....

Today, I'm thankful...

Even though Sarah raised her hand with irrepressible verve and projected to the back of the room, "My mom and dad definitely do that sometimes," she explained later (at home) the specific instance of which she was thinking was how we tell her and her brother to go to bed and then we stay up as late as we want. [My first thought was how we make a point to limit their candy intake, and not our own...amongst other plentiful parentally excusable -- and occasionally inexcusable -- hypocrisies.]

Darren is currently screening his vast library of animal and zoo-related texts searching for a photo of an eagle for his sister to draw.

As I type, Double Daddy is out getting a new coffee maker after instead of steam, smoke poured from our long-suffering Mr. Coffee this morning.

PS - By all means, anyone who wants to jump onboard the giving thanks daily train, please feel free! Let me know if you are and I'll do a sidebar list under the NaBloPoMo button for the month of November. By the way, if you've never visited my friend Nikole's blog, Clearframe, please do! She has been doing a "Grateful Monday" feature post that in no small regard inspires my (and others') sense of appreciation.

I am going along with it. I am looking back on my IVF journey this month.

My heart was beating fast there for a moment...so much potential for humiliation.
Ahhhh.
No biggie.

*chuckle* We learn SO MUCH from our children, don't we Cheryl? Sarah's comment is cute, even if a bit embarrassing. *hug*

This scares me more than anything. The whole, "the kids can talk" part.

LOL! Darn kids and their voices and ideas...

Ha! Oh, but it could have been so much worse, right? You're such a pharisee, Cheryl:)

And I took your advice about eating more candy. Like, a LOT more.

Thanks for your sweet words, friend.

That just makes me melt, Darren looking for a photo of an eagle for Sarah.

Miss you!

That does sound scary! Suzi doesn't quite have the vocabulary to tell on us in church yet, but I know it'll happen. We are the same way with the candy. It was a sad, sad day when we realized Suzi was going to start wanting a little of whatever we were eating.

Hmm, scary scary moment. LOL! I really think your kids are such incredibly creative thinkers. Wish mine will be some day.

Hey, Cheryl, love the November posts. Good idea...

I posted a rather lengthy post today on my blog, and would really value your input. Any chance you can give it a read?

Thanks in advance...

If Sarah had done that, I could only imagine you slinking down in your seat! That must have had you on edge for a moment! I think I'll start doing the thankfulness entries...I have a lot to be thankful for!

Amazing how children always tattle on us, isn't it??? Hannah would have said the same things about us.... it just isnt fair that we're allowed to do things they aren't!
