Query posed from the backseat, en route to friends' home for dinner...
Darren (a long-declared, ardent Obama supporter): "How do we know Barack Obama is President?"
Double Daddy: "We saw him be inaugurated, remember?"
Darren: "Yeah. But it doesn't seem like he's President..."
Double Daddy: "Well, he is."
Darren (with a bit of sadness): "Everything seems old and rusty, just like before."
Suppose it's time to explain that "change" is in the eye of the beholder...

awwww Cheryl....out of the mouths of babes...
Aww....give him time, Darren. Give him time.
It is a very hard one to grasp as a child. Dallas has asked many of the same type of questions, because they've talked about change, and how it effects not only the president, but him in his life, and he just doesn't see it yet so he doesn't believe.
OMG old and rusty? That's hysterical, but I think he's right!
HAH! Old and rusty. That kid is too perceptive.
Bwahahahahaha!
It's funny sometimes to wonder how their little minds work. There's never a dull moment when kids are around! Too cute.
Take care ;0)
Old and rusty! Too funny!
I'm a little older but I too would like to see a quick change:)
LOL! Old and rusty! Sadly, I think may get even older and rustier before we see any new shininess...
How cute! I wish change would happen that quickly, too!
That's cute!! It would be nice if things could change quickly!
Love that one
LOL! Glad to see that even the kids can see it ;)
Thank you so much for commenting and helping me help the Whitt family.
too cute
Darren's right.
It does seem a little rusty, but hopefully...times will get better.
The fast food generation needs change fast! And thanks so much for your words of encouragement - I have heard from the nursing sister today about an allergy clinic that might be the answer.
Really cute...wonderful memories.! Cathy
