Walking in the house after school...
Darren: "I just saw a female cardinal! She was brown."
Sarah: "Cardinals are red, Darren."
Darren: "No, Sarah. Female cardinals are brown, and the male is red. Isn't that right, Mom?"
Sarah: "Darren's right, Sarah. The male is the red one, the females are all brown."
Darren: "I saw the female and a male together."
Mom: "Maybe they were husband and wife birds."
Darren: "No, mom. They were mates."
Sarah: "Really Mom, birds don't know anything about marriage."
I stand corrected.

That is laugh-out-loud funny stuff!! They do have a point though. I'm afraid of the day my kids realize that if I take away outings as punishment that it is equal punishment to mom/dad. On that day they will have overthrown the in-house government.
LOL! Too funny Cheryl. You know you have a set of super smart kiddos there!
That is so cute. Your 2 kiddos are very brilliant!
p.s. Got my CD today, THANKS AGAIN!
I love what kids say...i have been doing an interview with my kids, stay tuned, it will be a series soon. Maybe I will post all the questions first for those who want to play along.
Sorry I missed your Way back Wednesday. I have been out of it with sick kids, and behind in life...
I love these little arguments...my boys think they are sooo smart!
So I wonder what those birds do in bed together?
I enjoy reading your blog because of many reasons but one of the reason is your two are so funny plus genius smart. That combo makes for great stories!!!
You learn something new every day don't you?
These are my favorite posts...when you share the funniest of conversations. Too great.
i agree with stacy, i love these posts too. their conversations are always so wonderful to read.
Hilarious!
HAHAHAHA Oh geez. You should write these down. Oh wait - you are! ;)
Well, they certainly told YOU! :)
Now, do we really know that? Maybe they have little birdie weddings and throw people seed around.
OH My Gosh! 2 clever kiddies! Very cute Cheryl :)
ps Sorry i haven't been around much... things have been "hectic"...
oh, could you send me that Fishful Thinking link again? I can't find the email...
I can never get my head around the fact that in nature, the females don't bother to get dolled up. It's the males that put on the make-up. I would love to not have to struggle to remember to put on lipstick every morning!
Gotta love it - once they start school they get *smart*!
