Way Back When-esday: Having a Ball

Dateline: March 2005
Twins' Age: 4 years old

No doubt the germs and viruses (virusi?) dwelling in the McDonald's Playplace were more plentiful than the balls in the pit, but truly, could I deprive them of that glee? (Yes, Darren is in that top picture. Those are his navy-blue socks emerging from the swampy depth of spheres.)

Take a mid-week moment and go "Way Back!" Post an image, a story and/or a memory and link back to Twinfatuation to share in the web-wide reverie. Be sure and go visit others joining in the e-album viewing and leave a comment!

It looks like they were having a blast! I loved playing in the balls when I was a kid. We take the boys to a big indoor play area that has a ball pit and they love it too!

wonderful memories. i do remember letting my kids play there, until all the silly scares scared me too much. but every kid needs to, and there are still some places where my big kids even like to play there. thanks for reading yesterday...i am in on the way back whensesday...i always spell it wrong. later today i do wordless wednesday, and then play wv wednesday...so come by at random times. although i have programed into your game the link to ONLY my way back post. hugs.

We had a ball pit at home when the boys were smaller, they loved it. I am sure your kids loved the one at McDonalds also!

What precious memories! My 12 yo asked why McD's doesn't have the ball pits that she played in anymore...I didn't tell her about all the nastiness that she probably wallered in...it would have freaked her out! :-)

OH! I just love taking the kids places where they have ball pits and tunnels...sadly there isn't much around here anymore :(
S&D look so cute! Love how you can just see their heads in there. LOL

Happy WBW!

Love the ball pits! So much we bought our own!

BTW... we picked the same month to share today!

Oh man, those things give me the heebie jeebies. I know I'll have to get over it. Though we did get one of our own for Christmas for the twins and surely that won't bother me as much...(?)

LOL< I wouldn't have noticed Darren in that first picture had you not pointed him out! Too funny! Obviously they were having a blast, despite the germs. :)

I'm so glad that I never thought of those pits as contamination zones when my kids were little. Perhaps they would have been sick a lot less I had though!

I know the pit death i would call them. Once my child came out of one wet...I know some kid had peed or barfed! Oh gawd!

Gotta love the socks in the first picture! I don't think we ever had any ball pits that deep.

Great for building immunity.

cute pics! I decided once I put my kids in daycare, all bets were off - no more trying to protect them from germs...I don't go rubbing them on sick people, but no more sheltering...god knows what they touch, lick, breathe at daycare all day, after all!

You know what, I'm always a fan of ignoring the germs and focusing on the fun. Life in a bubble wouldn't be so much fun! Great pics.

I'm glad you liked my out there post to my crock pot! You never know how inspiration will strike.

I love those ball pits, I do worry about the germs, but they are so much fun. You really don;t seem them too often anymore.

btw - now I am putting my WBW post for this week up, had a little glitch earlier, but i think its all worked out!

One of the few things we still haven't done with our kids-the pit o balls. I'm sure they would be in heaven-looks like yours were!

Cute pictures!! I worry about the germs too......so she gets a good cleaning the second she gets out! Nothing like a mommy armed with wipes and hand sanitizer!!!

But so worth it for them to have fun and cute pictures!

My twins love ball pits. I am horrible and never let them in them in public but we have one in the basement. Great picture
