Bad Haiku: National Donut Day

In honor of the title-mentioned holiday, and Laura's Bad Haiku Friday, a repost of an earlier homage to my  favorite food....
(FYI: My engagement story even involves donuts---I LOVE them.)
With your drive-thru always near
We never resist
With my twins in the backseat
Conveyor of Glaze

Fat stoker of my breastmilk
You kept them alive

Each time we pulled up,
You knew us by our order
Freebies for the twins

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles
Yeast, Sugar and Love

Play along with Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings' Bad Haiku Friday!

[And leave me a comment with your preference: Dunkin or KK...]

I had many a KK donut during my pregnancy, so no wonder my girls love chocolate (my fave is the chocolate cake one). DD was around this area growing up but we didn't eat much of it. When DD went away, KK appeared, so I only know KK...I won't knock DD til I try it again!

DD, KK, it's all good! Even those dry mini-donuts from the grocery store will do in a pinch.

LOL, Krispy Kreme is the best! When I was preggo w/ the twins, I had a coworker who drove right by KK on his way in to work and he'd always bring me the boston creme filled chocolate iced - my fav. He was my KK dealer ;-)

When I was a kid Dunkin Donuts had one called Chocolate Butternut that was and ever will be my favorite donut! Krispy Kremes are just almost too sweet for me.

I have never tried a Krispy Kreme! I thought the love would be too great from the beginning that I'd never been able to resist. Stopped the addiction before it began :)

My waistline and behind are very thankful that the closest KK is 20 min away. However, if we're nearby, we MUST STOP, day or night.
LOVE those pictures, how sweet! ;)

SO,,,I didn't know it was national donut day until I showed up at Krispy Kreme to a line 50 deep at 7 am...OMG. Hilarious trip for me...the conveyer belt couldn't keep up in Colorado the employees were waiting for it to catch up and pulling them with sticks as they came out of the glaze!!

Wait a minute...I just noticed both your kiddos were wearing Piggly Wiggly shirts. Is there a back story?

I grew up in a small town in Alabama and I have many a Piggly Wiggly story. I have one friend who takes pictures of Piggly Wiggly grocery stores (I don't think there are many left) when she's travelling back roads and emails them to me. It always cracks me up to open her emails and get a little glimpse of my childhood. :)
