Lenten Laziness / Sacrificial Sneakiness

Over dinner last week...

Double Daddy (preparing dinner): "Do you want a glass of wine with dinner?"

Mommy (with listening, learning-about-Lent twins at the table): "No thanks. Think I'll have some iced green tea instead. For my Lenten promise, I'm going to be remembering Jesus' sacrifice when I typically would have wine*."
(*Note to readers who don't know me in real life: I'll be thinking about Jesus a LOT in the coming weeks.)

She-Twin (with apparent disgust at my lack of forethought): "Mom, you should have given up medium Diet Cokes. That way, you could have LARGE Diet Cokes instead."

Sure, she looks innocent enough, occasionally still enjoying a My Little Pony coloring book; but that mind, that mind is always thinking....

Thats great! Reminds me of my 7 year old deciding to give up milk this year for Lent! Did I mention he is lactose intollerant and hasn't had milk in 7 years?

I really like her loophole-finding ways!
