Way Back When-esday: Let's Get to Work!

Dateline: October 2003
Twins' Age: 2 years old

Let's all put our collective efforts and energies into the next era we're entering as a country. While I am always proud to be an American, today does instill an amazing sense of historic magnitude -- for not only the resilience, but the progress and justly indefatigable optimism of our nation.

Today, I'm thankful...

When I told Sarah Barack Obama would be our new president, she erupted, "So he'll be a sculpture at Presidents' Park! And he'll be on all the new president placemats!" In a very seven-year-old tangible way, she "gets" the impact.

Darren, who has supported Obama from the very onset of the campaign (when each party was still offering a wide assortment of possible candidates), responded with a simple, "AWESOME!"

Play along with Way Back When-esday! Find an image from "way back" and share a few words. Be sure to link back to Twinfatuation to share in the web-wide photo album session!

They're so cute! Your kids are just adorable! I love seeing pictures of them as wee ones!!

And I have to echo your sentimate. I would hope that now that the election is done, that we as a country can rally behind our new president, reguardless of who we voted for, and give him the best possible chance to do a great job for our country as he possibly can!!!!

How sweet! It seems to me, though, that Darren is thinking of the best way to tip his sister out of the wheelbarrow!

Their reactions are classic! Aren't you glad you get to write all of this down? If you didn't, you'd run the risk of forgetting...it's so great!

Didn't have time to comment yesterday but wasn't to commend you and the kids for their enthusiasm in the election! So cool that they went with you while you voted. It was a great pic of the 3 of you, also!!

Although my pictures are from yesterday, they feel like a thousand years ago. They were from before we knew for sure what an amazing country, full of promise and possibilities, we live in!

My kids have always supported Obama as well! I have to say, I had a difference of opinion... and my hubby... well... he is a Ralph Nader fan. Though, the more I learn about Ralph, I have found he is a great guy as well! Maybe some day he can hold office!

Awesome picture! I love it... they are so cute!

You are a great mom for teaching them about the election. You have some very smart children there. Well done.
